VERIFICATION OF THE VOTES
The votes cast at the WMPCC election will be 'verified' at 17 centres across the city from 10.00 p.m. on Thursday 21 August.
CLICK HERE for the list of centres.
'Verification' means that the Elections Office staff count the number of ballot papers in each box to compare it with the figure given by the Presiding Officer at the Polling Station.
I need to appoint THREE Verification Agents for each ward within the next couple of days who will scrutinise the work of the Elections Office staff and point out any issues to them.
You can volunteer using the form. I will try and allocate you to the ward where you live or the ward which you represent. I may re-allocate volunteers to neighbouring wards if I have lots of volunteers for some and too few for others.
COUNTING OF THE VOTES
The votes verified on Thursday will be counted from 9.30 a.m. on Friday 22 August at the ICC, Hall 3, Broad Street, B1 2EA.
Here I need to appoint THREE Counting Agents per ward and ONE Recount Agent per Constituency. These Agents will scrutinise the sorting and counting of the ballot papers undertaken by the Elections Office staff.
Again, I need to make the appointments within the next few days. Please use the form to volunteer.
