Labour in Birmingham has delivered for the many, not the few

In the face of £650 million of Tory cuts – Labour has made a real difference in Birmingham and has made the right choices. Birmingham is a dynamic, growing city. Our skyline is changing. Despite the Tories trying to hold Birmingham back, Labour are re-building Birmingham. Let Labour finish the job because with Labour we will ensure the development of our city benefits the many and not the few.

Labour has delivered in Birmingham:

  • Bins: We have the budget for a weekly collection, we have the commitment for a weekly collection, and it is a Labour Council that will continue to give you a weekly collection.

  • Housing: We’ve built over 2,200 homes since 2012 – more than any other council in Britain

  • Young People: Our Birmingham Youth Promise has helped 10,000 young people into work or training after leaving school or college.

  • Living Wage: We pay 4,000 employees the Living Wage and 50 employers have now followed our lead.

  • At the heart of every community: We’ve worked to save libraries, leisure centres, green spaces and support for our children.

  • Modernising waste and cleaning up our city: We’re innovating to modernise our waste collection services to ensure Birmingham is the cleanest and greenest city in Britain where your bins are collected on time and most of your waste is recycled.
